Grace for the Next Step

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Since our last update, we have continued walking through a season of transition, closure, and seeking the Lord’s direction for our family.

I traveled to London because I believed it was right to resign from Downham Baptist Church in person and speak directly with the church family. It was not an easy trip, but I am thankful the Lord gave grace for that difficult conversation. We continue to love the people of Downham Baptist Church, and we are praying that God will guide, strengthen, and provide for them in the days ahead.

I also had the opportunity to preach at our sending church, Fayetteville Street Baptist Church, as we brought that chapter of our ministry to a close. Fayetteville Street has meant so much to our family over the years. Their love, prayers, encouragement, and partnership have been a great blessing to us. Preaching there was a meaningful way to close this season and give thanks for all the Lord has done.

After several emotional and busy weeks, our family was able to spend a week away together on vacation. We are very thankful for that time of rest. The Lord knew we needed it. It was good to slow down, spend time together, and be reminded of His goodness in the middle of change.

We are now looking ahead to the next step. Lord willing, our house in New York is scheduled to close in mid-June. We are thankful for how the Lord has led us this far, and we are asking Him to continue providing for our family. One of our biggest practical needs right now is a dependable vehicle as we prepare to settle into life in New York and begin this next chapter.

Proverbs 16:9 says, “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.” That verse continues to be very real to us. This season has not gone the way we expected, but we are learning to trust that the Lord is wise, faithful, and good. We do not always understand His timing, but we can rest in His hand.

Please pray with us in the following ways:

  • Pray for Downham Baptist Church as they seek the Lord’s direction for their future.

  • Pray for Fayetteville Street Baptist Church as they continue faithfully serving the Lord.

  • Pray for our family as we continue through this transition.

  • Pray that the closing on our house in New York would go smoothly in mid-June.

  • Pray that the Lord would provide a dependable vehicle for our family.

  • Pray that we would remain faithful, useful, and content in the place God has for us.

We also want to let you know that the month of May will be the final month we receive donations through Central Missionary Clearinghouse. We are deeply thankful for every church and individual who has supported us financially, prayed for us faithfully, and encouraged our family during this chapter of ministry.

Thank you for your continued love, prayers, encouragement, and support. Though one chapter has closed, we believe the Lord is still leading, still working, and still worthy of our trust.

In Christ,

Christopher Beane
